![]() ![]() We thought it would be really cool to have a very strong soldier that could wield an impressive arsenal, but also be very lithe and agile. We wanted our lead character in StarCraft: Ghost to be regarded in a similar fashion. Yet, she was widely regarded as being an impressive/appealing character. ![]() You never really saw her, except briefly in some cut scenes, so there wasn't a lot there to be graphically appealing. John: Sarah Kerrigan was a strong female Ghost unit in our previous StarCraft games. IGN: Why choose a female lead for Ghost? Was it for sex appeal or was there another reason in mind? You'd better move quickly to get away from its psi-streaming gun. That unit will be appearing in some of the Protoss base infiltration missions. The Protoss are getting a ranged infantry unit. A bit of advice for you: try to shoot the grenade before he throws it at you. That unit will be seen a lot in various Terran installations. The Terrans are getting a light infantry unit. John: No new species are in the game, although we are adding new unit types to the Terrans and Protoss. IGN: Does Ghost feature any new character/species types over other StarCraft games? If so, will these be integrated into future StarCraft titles? The game is then being adjusted to run on the GameCube and PlayStation 2, which require fewer resources. A majority of us are working on the Xbox version, which Ghost is being developed on. John: If you consider everyone who's doing something on the game, then we have over 70 people working on Ghost overall. IGN: How many people are on the development team and how is the team divided between the consoles? Nova ghosts out and sneaks around the environment Splinter Cell is a very cool game, but I don't think it has a Yamato cannon suppression attack. And thirdly, she can call on an armada to help blow the crud out of enemies. Secondly, Nova's got Psi abilities that are just so damn awesome: Cloaking, Sight, and Speed. Nova is going up against the Zerg, other Terrans, and the Protoss. First off, the game is set in the StarCraft universe. StarCraft: Ghost is unique in a number of ways. John: Well, Nova would be pretty upset if someone said she was just like Sam Fisher. IGN: What would you say to skeptics who claim that StarCraft: Ghost is a Splinter Cell copycat? How will Ghost separate itself? There are no significant content differences between the three consoles, though some items might appear slightly different between versions. #Starcraft ghost 480pAnd for PlayStation 2 Dolby and 480p support. IGN: The Ghost team has remained relatively quiet about the title during the past several months. Of course, this game, like all Blizzard games, won't be released until it has the passed our final polish phase (and getting that much wax on a game disc is a lot of work), so we can't be any more specific than that just yet. John Lagrave: We are anticipating releasing the game in the second half of the new year. What is the firm release date for the game? IGN: Blizzard confirmed previously that StarCraft: Ghost would ship on all three consoles simultaneously. ![]()
